These water adjustment classes offer parent education as well as a fun time
for parents and children to interact. The parent and child are in the water
together, and the parent must accompany the child.
SKIPPER, POLLIWOG, GUPPY, MINNOW
These classes teach water awareness and introductory skills for beginner
and intermediate swimmers. Students will learn front crawl with rotary breathing,
elementary backstroke and breaststroke. Safety skills will include pool rules,
use of pool safety equipment and non-swimming assists.

Others skills include treading and various kicks. Surface dives, racing starts,
flip runs and diving will also be taught. Students wishing to enter these

Offered for all ages on a one-to-one basis, private lessons are great for
people with special needs or a busy schedule. Contact the aquatics office
to schedule lessons.
LAP SWIMMING
This non-impact exercise works the entire body and cardiovascular system.
Depending on pool use, swimmers may be required to share a lane. Lap swimmers
under the age of 15 must share a lane with a parent and actively swim laps. Lap swim times are available
throughout the day. Contact the YMCA for a current schedule or check the
schedule online!
AQUA FITNESS
Water aerobics classes increase cardiovascular endurance, improve metabolic
efficiency, and increase range of motion while causing no trauma to weight
bearing joints. Morning and evening classes are available.
RECREATIONAL SWIMMING
Available to all individuals and families for water enjoyment, swimming and
recreation. See the pool schedule link above for a current schedule.

A number of additional classes are scheduled as demand justifies. Classes
