The Santa Maria Valley YMCA believes that child care should provide opportunities and experiences that stimulate a child's physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. All programs meet the developmental needs of particular age groups and, more importantly, the individual needs of each child. Our goal is to operate high-quality child care programs that demonstrate and teach values. Each child will be able to understand and demonstrate the four values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
SCHOOL-AGE CHILD CARE
Our programs include after school and 1/2 day kindergarten
care. Space is limited and registration is required. Care is
available during “minimum” days and holiday breaks. Look for
the Skyway Kids Club option which is a level pay plan that covers all school
breaks when the YMCA is open as well.

SKYWAY KIDS CLUB
Looking for something fun,
exciting and safe for your school-age kids (5 to 15) to do on days that
school is closed this year? If they were able to join us for camp this
summer, remember how much fun they had? We’ve found a way to recreate
that summer camp feeling in a new program called “Skyway Kids Club.”
Many of our fabulous summer camp counselors are staying on with us during
the school year to work in the ASES after school program. When those
school holidays, teacher in-service days or school breaks occur, we’ve
cooked up a whole bunch of great activities here at the Y for kids of all
ages to participate in. From
The Club will get underway in
November and continue throughout the school year.
There are two easy options for you to sign up. One is a monthly
club fee of $90, by bank draft or credit card, that insures your child a
spot automatically any day school is not in session (except Thanksgiving,
Christmas Day, New Years and Memorial Day, when the Y is also closed). In
order to take advantage of this cost saving option, you must enroll no
later than October 15th for the entire school year (November through May).
If you are not sure that you will be needing care all available dates, you
will still have the opportunity to register for a single day, all 4 weeks
of Winter Break or whatever days you think you’ll need. Best of all,

The Santa Maria Valley YMCA offers childcare at the following elementary
school: Tunnell Elementary. All other elementary schools provide after
school care through the ASES program. Please see your school to register
for your school's ASES program.

SKYWAY PRESCHOOL
The Santa Maria Valley YMCA offers an on-site preschool for children ages
3 to 5 years. The philosophy at the Y is to provide care and promote
growth in all areas of development for the preschool age child. During the
morning learning period the children will have the opportunity to focus on
several academic areas stressing academic readiness. Year-round programs will
enhance physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth. The YMCA Preschool
is a state licensed facility. State paid tuition may be available if
you qualify.

STEPPING STONES CHILDREN’S CENTER - INFANT/TODDLER
CARE & PRESCHOOL
Stepping Stones serves families with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age.
We provide a safe environment in which to explore, rest, feed, love and develop.
Like our preschool program, our curriculum is based on giving your child space
to explore and developing social skills while attending to their physical
and psychological needs. Stepping Stones is licensed with the state of California
and our teachers meet all required qualifications. Full and part time programs
available. Limited space.
